Air Chuck for Glass Tube Heat Treatment
Examples of air chucks used for heating glass tubes. The biggest issue with heat resistance is the packing used in the air chuck, but in this custom case, the problem is resolved by moving the air chuck body away from the attachment that grips the workpiece. In the air chuck shown in the photo, the left side is the attachment part, and the collet opens and closes to hold the workpiece.
